Yara keeps your resume in an editor next to the chat. You can ask Yara for changes in plain words, edit by hand, switch templates, fit it to one page, score it against a role, and download it as a PDF or Word file.
1. Open your resume
Type open my resume in chat, or go to Library, pick the Resumes tab, and click a resume. It opens in the editor on the right side of the chat. Want a separate version for a specific purpose? Ask Yara to create a new named resume called "Design roles" from my default resume. Your default resume stays unchanged.
2. Ask Yara for changes
Tell Yara what you want, for example add an interests section, tighten the bullets in my last two jobs, or remove fluff. Changed text is highlighted and a bar at the bottom shows how many changes are waiting. Click Keep all to accept everything, or hover one change and pick Keep or Discard.
3. Edit by hand
Make sure Edit is selected at the top of the editor, then click any text to change it. Select words and press Cmd+B or Cmd+I (Ctrl on Windows) for bold or italic. Hover a section to add, reorder, or remove entries. Your edits save automatically.
4. Change the template and spacing
Click the template button in the toolbar under the resume and pick one of six templates: Modern, Clean, Serif, Compact, Simple, or Minimal. Hover a template to see a preview first. The font button changes the typeface, and the sliders button adjusts line spacing, section spacing, text size, and page margins.
5. Fit it on one page
Ask Yara is it one page? or make this one page. Yara measures the real PDF and tightens spacing and margins until it fits. If you also want shorter content, say make it one page and remove fluff.
6. Score it against a role
Ask Yara to tailor my resume for a role in your Applications. The tailored resume shows a Score button at the top of the editor. Click it to see the fit score, the breakdown, and what to improve. Click Apply fixes to let Yara make the suggested edits using only your real experience, or Rescore after your own changes. Tailored resumes appear in your Library as Tailored for the company name.
7. Preview and download
Click Preview to see the resume exactly as it will print. Click the download button next to it and choose PDF or Word (.docx).
8. Undo, versions, and managing resumes
Use the undo and redo arrows in the toolbar to step back through changes, or ask Yara to undo that. Click the version label (for example v4) to see earlier versions and restore one. In Library, click the ... menu on a resume to Use as default, Edit brief (rename it or describe what it is for), or Archive it.
Uploaded a newer resume file? Add it under Settings, Application answers, Documents, then ask Yara to update my resume from the new file. Yara rebuilds the resume from that file as one change you can undo.
