Get more done in chat: memory, questions, research, people, and links

Have Yara remember your preferences, ask you questions, research in parallel, find people, read links, and create applications.

Written by Abdullah Atif

Yara can do much more than search for roles. In any chat you can ask it to remember things about you, ask you a quick question, send several researchers out at once, find people at a company, read a web page, and turn a job link into an application. This guide walks through each one.

1. Turn on memory

Open Settings from your name in the bottom left and choose Memory. Switch on Enable memory. When it is on, Yara saves what it learns about you and brings it into every chat. Everything Yara knows is listed under Memory, and you can edit it there.

2. Ask Yara to remember something

Tell Yara what to keep, for example "I want you to remember that I like full stack engineering roles". A Want me to remember this? card appears. Click Remember to save it or Skip to leave it out. In any later chat, ask "What roles do I prefer?" and Yara answers with what it saved.

3. Answer a question from Yara

When Yara needs a choice from you, it can show a question card. Pick an option and click Send, type your own answer in Type your answer, or click Skip. Yara carries on with what you picked, for example running a role search when you choose Find roles. You can ask for one yourself: "Ask me a multiple choice question about what I want to do next."

4. Send researchers out in parallel

For research that covers several companies or topics, ask Yara to split the work, for example "Spin up sub-agents to research the interview processes for Stripe, Google, and Linear for product design." Each researcher shows as its own Researching ... row while it works. Click a row to watch that researcher's steps. When they finish, Yara writes up the findings with links to its sources.

5. Find people and draft outreach

Ask for people by role and company, for example "Find 5 designers at Linear." Yara first shows how many people credits the search can use. You are only charged for the people who come back. Click Use up to 5 credits to run it. Results open in a table with title, company, and LinkedIn. Click Draft on a row, or ask "Draft an outreach message to the strongest match", to get an email and LinkedIn note you can edit and copy.

6. Read a web page or GitHub profile

Paste a link and say what you want, for example "Extract the content from this page" followed by the URL. Ask "Can you get the images as well?" to see the pictures on the page. For a GitHub profile link, Yara can pull the bio, popular repositories, a project README, and the contribution count for the last year.

7. Search the web

Ask about anything recent, for example "Search the web for the latest news about Figma hiring this month." Yara shows the searches it ran and links each claim to its source.

8. Create an application from a job link

Paste a job posting link and ask "Create an application from this". Yara saves the role to your tracker, opens an Application kit card with your tailored resume and contact details, and the role appears on the Applications page. From the kit you can open the application or mark it as applied with I've applied.

Good to know: Yara keeps working if you switch away, and replies are saved to the chat, so reloading the page shows the finished answer.
