What is Yara?

A quick tour of what Yara does and how to get started.

Written by Abdullah Atif

Yara is an AI job search assistant that works like a personal recruiter. You chat with Yara at yara.so, and it finds real, open roles that fit your background, tailors your resume to each one, prepares your applications, builds your portfolio website, and tracks everything you apply to.

What you can ask Yara to do

  • Find roles. Describe what you want, like "senior frontend roles in NYC" or "new grad jobs at AI startups", and Yara searches live postings and ranks them against your background.

  • Check a role. Each role shows whether the posting is real and live, how well it matches you, and what to do next.

  • Tailor your resume. Pick a role and Yara rewrites your resume to fit it, using only your real experience.

  • Apply. Yara reads the real application form and builds an application kit with a drafted answer for each question. You review it and submit on the employer's site.

  • Track your applications. Every role you like, start or apply to shows up in Applications, from Liked to Offer.

  • Build a portfolio. Start from a template or import your site, then publish it at your own Yara address and share tracked links.

Getting started

  1. Go to yara.so and click Sign up.

  2. Answer a few setup questions and add your resume so Yara knows your background.

  3. Tell Yara in chat what kind of role you are looking for.

For a full walkthrough of every feature, read Get started with Yara.
